The Usenet provider USENEXT was launched in 2004 by Aviteo Ltd. and has since continually grown in importance. Much has changed over the last few years - from welcoming its first customers on www.USENEXT.de to its internationalisation. In many areas, USENEXT has been constantly improving , but why not take a look at our timeline yourself to find out everything that has happened over the past few years:

Our successes

It all began when USENEXT was founded by Aviteo Ltd. in 2004, and welcomed its first client in July 2004. Only a month later the site was online in English as well as German. Spanish and French followed two years later. Doubled download volumes without price hikes were part of the big USENEXT customer offensive in 2008, with SSL-encrypted downloading introduced that same year. After many successful optimisations, PC Advisor compared USENEXT to other providers and was impressed: "USENEXT offers simply incredible download speeds, where other services can be more hit-and-miss in their speed and availability." Naturally USENEXT did not rest on these laurels, but continued to focus on customer satisfaction. Thus in 2010 the online site was relaunched, and Italian and Dutch were added to the language selection. The Extra Boost account was introduced a year later, with retention time doubled to 1,000 days. In 2013 the retention time rose to an incredible 2,013 days and USENEXT offered access to more than 200,000 newsgroups with more than 30,000 terabytes of data! In 2014 we celebrated our ten-year anniversary with contests and gifts for the many USENEXT fans. With its many years of experience and its "customer satisfaction, service and quality" motto, USENEXT continues to be the unrivalled leader and best choice among Usenet providers today. The second website relaunch in 2015 rounds out the overall offer with a fresh new site along with outstanding service.

Is USENEXT legal?

Just as Internet providers give access to the Internet, USENEXT makes access to the Usenet easy. The services provided by USENEXT and its use are completely legal! This has been confirmed by the Hamburg Regional Court (OLG), which describes the service of a Usenet access provider as fundamentally legal and socially desirable. The exchange of information in the Usenet makes a significant contribution to freedom of opinion and should not be restricted.However, copyright law still applies in the Usenet. We will therefore act to remove copyright protected materials in response to a request by the copyright holder. On principle, however, USENEXT is not responsible for content in the Usenet. Individual users decide for themselves how to use the service and what information and data to share. This is comparable to providers such as T-Online and AOL, that offer access to the Internet – where the user always freely chooses which pages to visit without influence from the provider. USENEXT is absolutely legal and can be used without concern by anyone!
